A new PB but not for me!

Having seen a few people achieve their personal best lake trout in the past week it was time to help someone very special do the same. 

Congrats to my daughter for landing a fat 30" laker (her first)  She lost a massive one on the jaw jacker leaving which we captured the line break on video pretty cool.  Another day of hammering!  She did very well despite a 2am departure and 8 hour round trip in the truck!  Definitely my daughter haha!

Great memories for both of you. One of the best parts of being a fishing dad.
I feel bad for kids and dads that don't fish together.

The memories with my dad fishing are the strongest ones I have..I realize that it had nothing to do with fishing but everything to do with him wanting to share with me something that he loves and makes him happy. My dad always wanted me to go with him.  I love him endlessly for that and want to pass it on to my daughter and soon I'll have a son to do the same.

My son and I were out today he out fished me slow day but we ended up with 5 real nice perch 1 for me 4 for him we pry caught 100-150 more dinks. Doesnt happen often but some times the mentor gets our fished. I fished with my Papa(grandpa) all my life as my dad wasn't really a fisherman. To this day Papa out fishes me 90% of the time. But that 10% that I do win is the best feeling ever. It makes him happy to. He was there for my first deer kill as well never saw the man happier than that day. Take a kid fishing better to have a tackle box than and Xbox.

Thanks Dick.  I owe many thanks to my friends that helped us get out there.  It's too far to walk.  I'm not sure when she smiled more, during the rides or when she caught.

Couldn't get lakers to chase more then 10-15' off bottom.
They liked it in the mud it seemed
Course of the day I maybe seen about 8 lakers cruise under the sonar..not 80

We got spoiled.  The fishing normalized a bit once locals could make it out to that area with the glare ice.
