Old Glory Outdoors is having a derby on Quaboag February 6th. We are expecting a decent turn out due to the Lion's Club derby being cancelled.

Ice was decent before the rain, I assume the slush is gone by the weekend, other ponds on the area that had similar conditions are now clear of snow and froze right back as of yesterday.
Any more info on the derby? Different pots for species or heaviest fish wins all?

I fished it the day after the rain. The slush solidified and still had 8"-9" of ice all the way to the main basin.

Based on prior derbies, it's been top three fish in BASS, PICKEREL and OTHER (trout, perch...etc.)

I got top in "other" one year with a hornpout.

I believe it's still a C&R derby, so fish need to be alive to be weighed in.
(Bring an extra bucket for transport to weigh in table.)

The derby on 2/21 (Long Sought for Pond) was a blast.
Although I wasn't able to enter any fish, the ones they had posted were some real good ones.


When I had last checked the board :

All three bass were between 4 and 6 lbs.

The Pickerel were roughly from 2 to almost 3 lbs.(20" long)

the "other" were all perch.

Oddly, no trout had been entered at that time.

All in all, I think everyone had a great time.
Great conditions, plenty of kids fishing, and someone flying their drone around.
