Post by: Mogli21 on Feb 13, 2021, 06:38 PM
I know recently windsor lake in NA and burnett and hallockville ponds have been mentioned but wondering if theres any better pond for both big and numerous perch.  Hit hallockville today but didn't get out till after 4 had one group of perch swing thru but wasn't paying attention to my pole.  Looking to head out to there again tomorrow am then maybe windsor pond just because I'm in the area

I talked to a guy who said he did pretty good on Ashmere for perch recently. I didn't get much info but he said he caught quite a few nice ones despite not targeting them specifically. Good luck wherever you end up.

Went to hallockville for awhile and did not have any luck from about 1030-1. Went down to Windsor pond and got one flag just about sunset and before that some perch bites on a rattle reel but lost every time I went to set the hook.  Got about a ten inch brook trout I put back on the tip up.   Hoping for better luck this weekend
Tried ashmere on Super Bowl Sunday and got a bunch of perch but most were small.

Trying a place in Monterey after working on Saturday that’s down the road from the job site.

Finding a pond in north/central Berkshire County that combines decent average size with decent numbers is tough.

They're are a fair number of ponds that produce lots of perch, but they tend to be dinks, and there are some (e.g., Fish Pond) that produce a lot fewer but of larger average size.

If push came to shove, I'd probably say Burnett's Pond in Savoy is your best bet for a "blend" of decent size/numbers, but even that's marginal.
