A few fish from yesterday 1/11/2009
« on: Jan 12, 2009, 11:07 AM »
First time to a new pond and here are few pics. I had my line broken 7 times yesterday! Stopping to buy myself some of the braided ice line does anyone use it? and which one is the best?

I'm 62 yrs young.
If you would have asked me two yrs ago if I was an ice fisherman, the answer you would have gotten would have gone something like this. Are you $@#&^'n Crazy? Well it's been 2 years now that I have been back on the ice after some dabbling 30+ yrs ago.
A freind pulled me in after a couple yrs. worth of invitations to his club.

What I still don't get ( maybe because I'm gettin older and more thin skinned ) is why some folks go out in the cold and snow just to catch and release all of their fish.
I don't care spit about Bass. That would go back down the hole. A nice Kitty kat however is gonna come home and meet Mr. Crisco.

I haven't been out after anything but Pan fish but I'd say that I would keep an eater size Pike or Walleye.
Big Girls would get CPR.

Two reasons I release all fish I catch throughout all seasons is 1 I don't like the taste of fish and 2 I have no where near me where I can donate the meat to shelters.

I don't keep the fish because I do not like fish. But I do enjoy catching a nice fish taking a nice picture and letting it go!!!

Thanks for the replies Guyz.
I guess for the same reason people play Golf, they enjoy it.
Why'd I ask such a dumb question that I already knew the answer to?

Just a different version of Cuz it makes me happy. ;D
