« on: Jan 16, 2009, 03:41 PM »
I used the 3in version of the gulp minnows a lot for walleye in the fall has anyone had any luck with these in the hard water wasn't sure if their scent would be strong enough in the hard water

I have used the Gulp Maggots and caught fish. I do not see why not.

Thanks ff for the boost in confidence. Those minnows have pulled in a variety of fish for me in the fall.stripers, eyes and I even caught to cats jigging off the side of my kayak. Thought I had a couple of great walleye until they reached surface.

How do you hook those Mock minnows for ice fishing?

During the fall, I use a 1/8 jig head. I lace the minnow nose first up the jig with the hook point coming out the middle of the minnows back. Make sure you get the hook into the middle abducted not off the sides. It gives a more realistic jigging presentation. I hopes thus helps.
