Following video instructions, but reached a problem. On the very last step of removing the part which will be reversed, the sleeve (one way clutch inner ring) comes out no problem but the other part (one way clutch) won't budge. Anybody else experience this or have a solution? I've been trying to tap the reel like it shows but to no avail and don't want to damage it. Appreciate any replies.

I had that problem with one of the 3 that I changed over. I used a heavy duty paper clip and made a very short bend at the tip to hook under. It still took some work to get that part out, but be patient as to not damage anything.

I just bought one of these reels for me and one for my wife from gander Mountain.
Been using it the last three days on the ice Rainbow trout fishing.
Overall I like the reel. It takes a bit of getting used to but overall I am very happy to have bought it.

Thanks Musky...I'll try that. Tried using forceps inside pressing outward and lightly pulling...wouldn't budge. It's almost like you need a tiny puller to get it out, but the main shaft is dead center.

I got my bb 6061 the other day. Love it. So I went to cabelas and looked at tickle sticks. I would highly recommend staying away from them. Of the five they had in three were broke there and they felt like they would break really easy in a rod case with one wrong move. Just my opinion but I got a Legend silver St. Croix rod and I love it. Its perfect with my bb.

Hey MasonEddie.....How about warmin the reel with a hair dryer near where part needs to be removed? Works for alot of other jobs! Good Luck! O.P.

Using a can of compressed air in the inner piece would probably work better.

hold the can upside down and spray it on the race of the one way bearing. That will 'freeze' the race and make it contrat and you make have an easier time getting it out.

By "freezing" it, the race will expand which will make it tighter.

That's a bunch of horse dung! I ordered a 6061 over a week ago from GM and it was on 'Backorder" and I called and they said they wont get any more in stock so it was canceled. Now it says they are back in stock?

Meanwhile, I already ordered a No 8 inline reel instead of the 6061. The No 8 inline doesn't feel all that great but I haven't used it yet so we'll see. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmm!
