My boss took over the ice fishing derby in the islands for the Great Ice Event.
http://greaticevt.org/faces/events.xhtmlSo I started volunteering to give them a hand and Camp Abnaki were i work is a big sponsor. so i like doing my park. myself and a couple other gentleman ran the tipups and jig lines, bait, teaching the kids. we ended up having about 12 fishing all perch entered for trophys from the kids. no northerns, whites, nothing else. strange day. the wind out of the NE made it very cold for the kids. we had kids range from 1-12 in age. It was a lot of fun. Next year we are changing the weekend though. The turn out was not as good as in the past, with the Islands derby going on. I've got pictures my boss is going to send me to post.
