I was at hill road not over at the swamp. that place was packed

Good call. It was pretty packed at the swamp. It's one of the bad things about 1st ice. Everyone is all congested in the same areas.

I fished Keelers near the swamp area yesturday. Not a lot of perch just a lot of northern's. Most small but I got one that was 10lbs.

i cant wait to get out to keelers, thats where i went a lot last year and was never really dissapointed. close to home and lots of perch. this year i am going to be going out further and hopefully pull out something bigger! my buddy gave me about 20 tipups he made to use this year. this is only my third year ice fishing, but i can't get enough of it. i'll be seeing you guys out there. this is a cool forum. good to see local guys sharing info and storys. gives me something to do while the girl watches her "reality shows" haha

Yeah they are fishing out to the Island.

Be careful about where you park, they were going to tow vehicles because people were not far enough off the road for a fire truck to get by.

Is that for the people parking on route 2, or down by the access?  I heard a 13 year old kid got hit on rt 2 last weekend or late last week.  Hope he is okay.

Fished the swamp yesterday, couple of decent perch and a few small pike.  Saw some other guys with a big pile of small perch and a few pike.  Ice looked good and was ~5-6".

Hill Road parking was a problem not Rt 2. I didn't hear about the kid getting hit that's terrible.

I saw some atv tracks last week.  I was out there today and any tracks get covered quickly from the wind and snow.  I only spent a couple of hours.  Not much biting after that front.

Anyone been at keelers the last few days? I was there last week and the snow was too deep to get any decent depth.
Anyone been out towards the island?
Hoping to go tomorrow but not if I need a snow machine.

most of the lake is glare ice everywhere now thanks to the warm up, but still some deep pockets and snow drifts here or there
