Fish Pond a/k/a Windsor Lake in North Adams
« on: Jan 12, 2019, 06:04 PM »
My younger son and I fished Fish Pond from 2 to 4 PM this afternoon.

Mostly sunny, but cold (10 to 15 degrees).  About 6 inches of ice.

We set up 7 tip ups, one deadstick, and two jigs.

Action was slow overall.

I had a couple flags on one tip up, but whatever it was barely mouthed the bait, so I switched out the tip up in that hole for a jig, and caught the first fish of the day - - a small perch.

My son had a flag on one of his tip ups, but whatever it was ("long and white" according to him) got away at the hole.

My son then caught a 13" bass and an 11" bull head (which was what he had been targeting  on his tip ups further out) on a jig close to shore.

I managed to land one more fish (a small sun fish) on a jig - - and that was it for the day.

I talked to a few of the other guys out on the ice, and their experience seemed about the same as ours.

Only two hours to fish . . . no time to cook.

I'm saving the culinary experience for tomorrow - - when I should have "all day" (about five hours) to combine two of my great loves (fishing and cooking).
