Personally I enjoy a brook trout.  But I've never had yellow perch so I should be careful how I knock it.  I just like giving you guys a hard time.  Seems like a lot of work to get those to a plate.

I've only seen an eagle sneeky enough to take off with a trap once, and that was when I buddy had two flags at the some time and through one perch on the ice without taking the hook out and ran for the other one.  Pulled up a nice salmon, then turned around to see his trap chattering across the ice being dragged by the bald eagle.  Pretty cool actually.

Pretty wild, we have sandhill cranes here in Indy. I was fishing at Loomis Lake years back and caught a bluegill on one rod and noticed a bite on the other rod. While attending to the other rod a crane snuck up and gulped the gill down in one heap. This thing took off flying with the line still attached, so I pulled the rod tight and snapped the line, didn't know what else to do. One of those wild times that you have to see to believe.

should have just loosened your drag and seen if you could land him.

Kinda of reminds me of when I was fishing the breaKWALL for coho in the early spring. Fishing with nitecrawlers and bobber 3-4 feet deep. While I saw my bobber dissapear. I set the hook and noticed my line went air-born. There was a duck trying to fly away. I will say it was a fun fight when I finally was able to net him I cut the hook and the bulebill flew happily away. To bad duck season was over.
