Why no one fishing?
« on: Dec 26, 2019, 10:57 AM »
While walking the dogs at Crack State Park yesterday I walked out at the Tower and threw rocks down at my feet.  Plenty thick enough to be ice fishing. Yet saw no evidence of anyone doing so.

Bunch pussies- ;D

People are sissys when it comes to early ice!!  3" of uniform clear ice will hold many hundreds of pounds.  Was reading some reports on the bookface claiming the ice we fished monday was sketchy and not very good, let em believe it more for us!

There’s a huge difference between “early ice” and being a “sissy”! With the warm-freeze weather patterns we’ve been having, that 3” could become 1” or less in a heartbeat!
If you want to risk your safety, have at it! Name calling does nothing to prove your point!

Wow you took that really personal for a statement that was directed at absolutely nobody and then you made several incorrect assumptions in the statement that followed.  Its cool though, I forgive you :'(

He's retired now Z, got lots of free time.  Maybe doing all these travels will make him happier, and live longer.

When I get to a foraging location -such as the spot mentioned- and there is no one there, my first thought is:  there ain't no forage here.  And that's usually true.  The word always gets out among foragers...  And I am a forager.  :D

Some nimrods fishing safe ice on South side staying within 200 yards of shoreline. Tower ice not safe, the hole in the ice from nimrod without spud bar that popped in and out and back to shore this evening...be careful if you venture out on the ice the snow is an insulator and the warm water runoff is bad for the ice.
