I think it's the Weatherman's devious retaliation, Jeff!!!   A major conspiracy...  ::)   ;D

So, there are THREE different predictions for this Winter, two from the SAME place...someone wanna explain that? Note: These are all central/Midwest predics... :blink:  ::)

"Piercing cold with normal snowfall"...http://www.farmersalmanac.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/2014-USFA-Winter.jpg

"Cold, snowy" (Which I interpret as lots of snow) http://www.almanac.com/sites/new.almanac.com/files/postcard_us_weathermaps14_gv.pdf

"Stormy" http://weather.yahoo.com/farmers-almanac-super-bowl-may-104756127.html

And this retort....

http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2013/08/26/good-question-how-far-ahead-can-weather-really-be-predicted/

I think I'll go by the most accurate predictor...Mr. Wooly Bear.  ;D

All I know is that no matter what they predict, I'm hoping reality brings a long cold winter that gives me fishable ice for several months this year!! Something we haven't seen in many a year!! :thumbsup: :clap: :whistle: :icefish:

All of them are predicting a cold winter for us here in Pennsylvania so no matter what one we go buy it's good news.

My guess is these predictions come from a "wheel of weather" kids can make from paper placemats at Denny's or Howard Johnson's.

They have trouble forecasting the weather for the end of the week! Lets all just hope for an average winter with enough ice to safely fish without having to risk our lives or travel to find fish-able ice.  :icefish:

Well, right now it's 47 deg out, clear blue sky, and suns just up over the horizon. Looks to be perfect out today. However, the weather azzes show it's raining and foggy, and to exercise caution driving. They can't even predict the PRESENT, much less 4-5 months down the road.
Better and more accurate predictions are given by my aching bones and joints.  ;)2

No kidding, gosh the weatherman posted flash flood watch for last night, it hasn't rained since early June so I was leary about it. So far smokey skies and no sprinkles.
