Forecast looks better but hopefully wind dies down.  Drove by Brant lake today and both  ends have ice but middle !/3 of lake is wide open.  Drove down shoreline from camp in Hague to LG Village and lake is completely devoid of ice, even in bay areas.  You could launch a boat at Hague launch if chain was down.  Cold front coming in also has strong NW winds associated with it.

Anyone know the water temp? lga and lg.com isn't showing it.

Insane cold on Friday (-14F !) but windy from the NW. Sat night is supposed to be near 0F and calm. But mid 30s the next week. Looks like if it does freeze it'll be 1-2" just to tease us.

Several spots mdb to the narrows.  That will lock faster than youd think.  Unfortunate for me because the boat fishing with no pressure was amazing.

Norowal and the north launches are open,  it’s going to be cold but the winds are unfavorable.  Tough year, but next year bear hooks will catch fish.  It sucks and this has been a crap winter

LGA thermometer reading 33.69 at 1 meter depth at Hall's boat house.  Getting close but wind has to die down to cap things over.

Did anything lock up after the weekend cold spell? Looking at the extended forecast if any parts aren’t froze over as of today that might be the icing on the cake for this years Hardwater chances.

Not a single person out on it but it's skimmed over. Unfortunately there isn't much in the way of cold weather in the forecast
Goin' where the wind don't blow so strange,
Maybe off on some high cold mountain chain.

I have a question and trust me I still want the lake to lock up this year but let’s just say it doesn’t, can you just launch your boat at million dollar beach and be fine?  Never launched on Lake George before and weighing the possibility the first weekend of March.  I know in the summertime you need a boat inspection and special registration but in the winter time is it fair game?  Any info would be appreciated

Yes you can.  I think until April 1st or 30th.  Then you need a "sticker" from the Lake George Association and they will inspect.  Both are easy and if you dont like pleasure boaters theres you wont want to be on the lake past April.

Guys on MDB right now, my son was out there yesterday 3" most holes out till the windblown ice area got real thin real quick. Anyone been by vets or has that bubbler kept it open?

Didnt even bother checking with that bubbler there. That homeowner is an @sshole. As for MDB, that ice has some sketchy spots in it on the ice sheet closest to shore so make sure youre spudding every step for those venturing out. I know of guys who found some areas of 1 spud ice on monday on the ice sheet prior to the wind blown ice

I made it out on MDB last sunday (2/26).  Made it out to about 25 fow and 5 inches of ice.
Caught 6 perch and 1 Laker between 3 guys, wouldn't say we were exactly killing it, but I am glad to have made it on the hardwater of LG this year.

Everyone’s least favorite boat  :roflmao:

One full day and two stints of a couple hours. Probably could have pushed it a few more times but couldn’t pull the trigger w/ 2-2.5” of ice while solo. Plenty of other opportunities to get after them
