Good evening , i spent the afternoon-early evening at my sister and B-I-L's home in northern New jersey today. good to see them nice weather for the drive to and from their home. I see hurricane Lee was down graded to a tropical storm when it's leading edge hit Nova Scotia. Over a hundred thousand people without electric power.
Ice wanderer some of the medications given to you for surgery may still be effecting your body hence all the mistakes when trying to post. may Sunday be a better day for you .
Wallyworld may the turnout for the benefit rode have been large and a sizable amount of money raised.
Eddie may your son's have problem free traffic to Pulaski .Best to you when time comes to switch from a walker to a cane.
Hunts2long thank you for the comment s on GSL .
Icefisher-45 good to read you have no problems from hurricane lee
Whopper Stopper best wished for you with tomorrow.
IFF safe journey wished for you on the trip to Tennessee. may your friend get the house ownership issue resolved.
Take care stay safe

Well hit the lake today after clipping the wings of yhe chickens and getting a few things done around the house. Caught a good sized sucker and a few small perch that we threw back and even caught some walleye, one on a harness, as all the perch were on harnesses, one on a crank, and one jigging. We stopped at a place we usually jig up some crappie and caught the walleye no crappie unfortunately. Have a good one everyone still in then 80's for highs but by next weekend they are saying low 70's to maybe only high 60's for a high, will be a good change.
Also tried for some more doves tonight, got one last night and missed all of them tonight. Not as many flying but still some around.

FH4…nice job on the fishing, thanks for sharing the picture!
Better luck with the dove hunting today if that’s on the menu..
Steve…glad you had a nice visit with your family and beautiful weather for the drive, what a great time of the year!
Bud…safe travels today back home, sure hope things work out for the best with that poor woman.
Marv…will be looking forward to your post today, hope that 12 point came by for a visit!! Best of luck with this morning’s hunt…
I-45…Thank you, hoping all is going well for you and the family also!
Bart…there’s some cider doughnuts under the dome this morning, help yourself brother!
. Thank you, glad to see you posting!
H2…Happy belated Birthday wishes to Lindsay, hope everyone enjoyed the special dinner! Good luck to you and the team on the lanes this evening!
Wally…will be looking forward to your post, hope you had great ride yesterday!
Not a heck of a lot on the planner today, might try to get some of my garden pulled with the help of my grandson. My sons are trying to coax me into going up to the Salmon River with them and my grandson next weekend just to hangout with them and get our annual 3 Generations Strong trip in. I’m not ready for that yet, but I’m fairly confident I’ll be ready for an ice trip! Cawfee’s on…:icefish:
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good morning ER's,
It's 46* and clear here on my hill.
I'm still having problems in typing.
Eddie...........I hope you can graduate to a cane soon
Wally............It was a nice day for a benefit ride, I hope a good turnout produced some funds.

ully Yogi will return a little closer.
Bud..............We had a woman in the same predicament, she finally got it straightened out with the help of a lawyer.
I-45..............That's my intentions with the jokes.
Steve............I'm glad you had nice weather for the drive to your sister's.
H2l...............Good luck on the lanes tonight.
,
I'm just spending time recovering, I am not supposed to do anything to compromise my surgery. The doctor said I can only lift a coffee cup, but I Can't
reach out to far. And I have a big bruise under my arm on my side.
I hope everyone has a good Sunday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

WS, well you are getting some action, good luck.
IW, glad you are on the mend. Take it easy.
WW, it was a very nice day for the ride, lots of bikes around here yesterday.
Eddie, good to see that you are feeling well enough to start doing some things, just go slow.
Dinner was good, had a good time.
I have to say that Syracuse is looking pretty good.

Good morning everyone
47 in the bog this morning.
Eddie....I missed the treats under the dome
I hope each day brings you closer to getting rid of the walker
IW...follow the Drs orders. We want to see you on the ice this winter
WW...all the rain did was get my stuff wet
Congratulations on the good turnout
Perfect wind last night but Zonked on the deer movement. 15 minutes before quitting time I heard some odd grunts from the swamp. For whatever reason a decent bear blew out of the swamp and busted across a small opening about 75 yards from me. I think the noise was just him grunting while kicking in the afterburners, like a chubby kid trying to pry the peanut butter jar open
. It made for some excitement for 1.5 seconds.
Hope you all have a good day
Stay safe and keep healthy.

MasonEddie, Just go slow doing things.
Ice Wanderer, Make sure you follow Drs orders.

WallyWorld, Hopefully the mowing doesn’t take too long and your grass isn’t too bad. Our backyard is looking like a hayfield.
Hunts2long, Good luck on the lanes tonight.
Whopper Stopper, Hopefully you get less wet today and Yogi gets closer.
I hope everyone has a great day and tight lines to those on the water and be safe in the woods.

Good evening, pleasant day here in the Mid Hudson river valley with afternoon high temperature of 77 . I made a trip to Rhinebeck, NY. this morning (northern Dutchess county) from may to mid December there is a farmer's market most every Sunday . A farm from German town in Columbia county had a booth. This farm deals in different types of game animals I have purchased products from them before usually at the annual Dutchess county fair . The nice weather had the market and Rhinebeck crowded with people I purchased some wild games sausages and a package of frozen Elk patties. I will leave a link at end of my post. They use United Parcel Service for shipping not the cheapest but i received items i had ordered for MY B-I-L's birthday present in two days earlier this month.
Fish/hunt4ever nice that you were able to get to local lake and caught some walleyes and the yellow perch.
Eddie smart to listen to your body and pace yourself as you posted hopefully there will be a few family ice fishing trips this season. may you gotten your garden pulled with help from your grandson.
Ice Wanderer follow the doctor's instructions may the bruise clear up in coming days. like others posted we want to see reports and photos of you ice fishing this season.
Wallyworld glad you had such a nice day for the benefit ride and turn out was good for the event. thank you for asking my B-I-l is doing better not sure if he will return to work this week. Believe he starts his treatments next week.
hunts2long may you and your teammates night at the bowling alley have been a good one. nice to read that Lindsay and other enjoyed her birthday dinner.
Whopper Stopper may the weather have been better for you today. i hope you were presented with a chance to harvest a bear or buck .Icefisher-45 i saw some news footage nice day after hurricane lee's passing glad you and Mr. Dickens were able to get out and enjoy it. mat electric power be restore to majority of people who lost service during the storm .
IFF happy to read you had a problem free trip back to your home in Tennessee. happy for your friend may the lawyer help her with the housing problem .
Link to website for the farm selling game meats . Highland Farm in Germantown, NY.

Good Morning Everyone,
Light rain and 57* this am, off and on showers most of the day with a high of 61.
Steve…thanks for the link, will take a peak at that!
Got most of the garden pulled, left a few hot pepper plants that were still in good shape.
Bud…glad you had a safe trip back to the farm, catfish and fried potatoes sounds good to me!!
I-45…glad you and Mr.Dickens are getting out and enjoying the comfortable weather, won’t be long until most of the leaves start turning color again!
Marv…hope the beginning of a new week brings you some better luck today, we’ll keep the fingers crossed for you today!!
H2…will be looking forward to the bowling report, hope the team was on last night!
Wally…glad to read the benefit ride had a good turnout!
That’s a great idea about the hatchery, will keep that in mind…Thank you!
Jeff…as mentioned, don’t overdo it, glad you’re taking it easy!
Can’t help but chuckle about the Dr.’s comments on lifting….mine said nothing heavier than a gallon of milk for 3 months. Guess I really can’t go salmon fishing…
Couple of errands to run with my wife this morning just to get out of the house…in need of mason jars again for pepper jelly and some fresh herbs from the garden.
Cawfee’s on gang…
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

55* and some rain in the forecast.
WW, have a good day on the water.
Eddie, good to see that you are getting out and doing things. It all helps!
Ice-45, glad you and Mr. Dickens enjoyed your at the pond. It will be nice to have the wife back.
WS, sometimes that 1.5 seconds can really get you on your toes.
As a team we bowled pretty good last night, the other team was on another "planet". One guy bowled a 756 for 3 games. The girl on their team bowled 150 pins over her avg. We loss all 4 points, but I bowled 32 pins over my avg. WE will be getting more pins in handicap from them next time.
Hope everyone has a good day and be well....h2l

Well split some wood yesterday after changing the oil in the splitter. Got some stacked down by my MIL place so she can get wood if we are out and not available to get the wood piled up for her this winter at times. Then was thinking of dove hunting but after the heat and all just hung out made some Mac and cheese with chicken in the instant pot, well actually the ninja, but always good to have the home made Mac and cheese baked with bread crumbs on top for a little crisp bite to it. Then got the call for work as there was a power bump out here at 430pm, so hit the road a little after 1 this morning just to pull through the gate and set down in the control room as they had another bump at 1130 last night, this one for a bit longer for about 30 minutes or more. But hey it all pays right. Have a great day everyone. I am just waiting for the Temps to drop a bit for hunting on the mountain in a bit. Temp forecast for town.
And the Temps in the town about 15 miles from where we camp.

Good afternoon everyone
Settled into my bow stand about an hour ago. Yesterday was a long sit that got exciting the last 15 minutes of daylight. Up until 6pm all was very quiet. A doe walked directly under my stand and stood for a good 15 minutes. Eventually she started walking away when out of nowhere her 2 fawns cam charging at her. They were still nursing and it was game on for the next 5-7 min. Their tails spun llke fans and and I would think half the woods heard them sucking and grunting. Eventually the three wondered off and I once again the woods became silent.
About 10 minutes from the end of legal shooting, I heard another deer coming from behind me. As it passed by I had no problem seeing it's horns. At 18 yards he stopped broadside looking in the opposite direction. I was sure it had 8points but counted 6-8 times just to be sure. He hung around until it was too dark to see him. I sat in my tree a good 1/2 hour after dark then got down and headed for the snack.
I hope tonight the 8 is replaced by the 12pt or the heavy 10 that has been hanging close.
Hope you all have a good afternoon /evening.
Stay safe and keep healthy.

Good evening reading 62 on my balcony thermometer with humidity slightly over 70 percent . Like others here in the North East off-on rain today. To my fellow New Yorkers the Thruway Authority board approved two toll increase today the first will take effect this coming January when tolls go up by 5 percent. They will go up another 5 percent in January of 2027 . If you travel this roadway often definitely get EZ-Pass and save money on tolls and bridge crossing fees. I currently do not use the Thruway often but thinking about getting EZ-Pass would have saved me 50 cents yesterday when crossing the Kingston-Rhinecliff bridge. The EZ-Pass fee is $1.65 for passenger vehicles paying through Tolls by Mail fee is $2,15 . The Thruway Authority does not receive any dedicated Federal, State or Local tax money and is supported only by the tolls charged. The state may have included money in this or last year's budget to help pay cost of the current Rest/service area renovation project .
In news from my area a tractor-trailer caught on fire this past Saturday while traveling on interstate 84 in my home county of Orange multiple fire departments responded and put the fire out got there in time to save the tractor and trailer from being a total loss .
My view from apartment windows still limited by leaves on trees but coming home from my sister and B-I-L's this Saturday noticed the frame work is now up on building local fire department is having constructed. I thought they were having a new social area built from the frame work I think the building will be used to house fire trucks. Guessing as population in my area grows they need more equipment and buy having new garage space they will not need to have any new equipment modified to fit into building.
Since I posted the link to Highland Farm yesterday received an Email they are having a promotion in honor of national Cheeseburger day .Orders through their website of the Bacon Cheeseburger bundle pack will receive 10 percent off purchase price by using code Burger Day at check out. The code is good until this Wednesday Sept. 20TH .
Eddie good to read you have most of your garden pulled thanks to help from your grandson. May you get some more peppers from the remaining plants. I hope you found mason jars and any other needed caning supplies for your jelly and herbs .
Icefisher-45 may your wife be back home. Hopefully the landlord can get someone to mow the lawn .
Ice Wanderer you are welcome I know you do the same when any of us need prayers and support .
Hunts2long though to beat a team when they are playing well. Good to read you bowled above your average again best to you and the team next Sunday night.
Fish/hunt4ever you are a good man processing firewood for your M-I-L's use this coming Winter . the Insta-pot cook up some good meals my sister has one .May the power issue be resolved both at your home and work place.
Whopper Stopper happy to read you are having activity near your bow hunting stand. May tomorrow's post from you report the harvest of the 12 or 10 point buck. Question for you and the other deer hunters depending on when the fawns were born should they not be weaned by now. How did the "Girls" do fishing this weekend .
Wallyworld it has been a good open water season for the two of you do not remember any report of a visit from the striped kitty. Congratulations on today's catch .
Did the fish come from Oneida or Delta Lake .
Since some of you mentioned that you will look over Highland Farm's website just see if the shipping costs agree with your budget. So far I have had a few of their Summer Sausage offering and always been happy with my purchases . There maybe a similar farm operation closer to your location. I'm sure F/H4E can find Elk and Bison/Buffalo at many places out there in Wyoming. If he should fail to draw an elk or deer tag any year .
May everyone have a good week. best to those fishing and hunting.

Good morning ER's,
It's 54* and partly cloudy here on my hill. The guessers are saying dryer weather for the rest of the week.
Marv........I know how frustrating it can be when you have a shooter on the trail cam and it doesn't show up.
H2l..........As a team you guys seem to be bowling well. unfortunately the younger team is bowling better.
You guys will get your chance.
Eddie.......I bet it feels good to get out of the house for a bit.
It's good that your grandson helped you pull the garden. It's a good bonding
exercise.
Steve.......I've seen some of the improvements on the Thruway, some were needed and some could have been left alone.
I don't care
how often one travels the Thruway, EZ Pass is a must.
Wally........Good job out on the lake yesterday, Team Wally is on fire.
Fish..........I guess the power bumps can really mess with production.
You'd think they could have something in place to counteract them.
I-45..........I'm glad your wife has made it home safely.
Not much going on here, all Ican that I'm getting a lot of support from some family and friends. I'm glad that I took the time to prepare for the
surgery.
I hope everyone has a good Tuesday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

Morning all,
WS....sorry you haven't gotten "the shot" you're looking for yet, it's still early
MrC.....those came from Oneida lake
it has definitely been a good year so far for us on the water, striped kitty did join us 1 day early season while fishing Lake Ontario
Eddie....glad to hear you're getting out and about, soon it will be time to hit the pumpkin farm
IW.....good to hear you've got a strong support network
H2L.....can't do anything to stop a team that's on fire
Some errands today, tomorrow morning early we're heading west to Lake Erie to fish a few days, weather is SUPPOSED to be beautiful so we decided now's the time
Have a good day. Stay safe, stay healthy.

54* and sunny.
WW, some nice fish, I have heard they are hitting pretty good out your way.
WS, hope one of the big boys shows up.
I have to take the jeep in for an oil change this morning, wife has a Dr. appt in Saratoga.
Yesterday morning my nephew's dog started barking, he looked out back, nothing, went to the front door and a bull moose was walking up his driveway, walked right by the porch, the sugar house and up into orchard.
Have a good day and be well....h2l

Good Morning Everyone,
Breezy and 55*, high of 65 today.
Wally…congrats to Team WW on another awesome trip!!
Best of luck will be with you putting the hammer on those Erie walleyes…enjoy!
Jeff…before I finished up with my therapist, he had me practicing going up and down the steps and walking short distances on the lawn which was so beneficial. So glad you have a strong support group, that’s a blessing for sure! Thoughts and prayers will be with you until you’re fully recovered!
Marv…thanks for the updates, I sure hope today brings you the buck or bear you’ve been waiting on…best of luck to you!!
Steve….guess we shouldn’t be shocked by the increase in tolls again on the Thruway, especially after they’ve done nothing but increase since they were supposed to disappear in 1996?
Found some quart mason jars yesterday, struck out on half pint jars, maybe today.
FH4…hope the power problems are all resolved now! Those overnight temps on the mountain are looming good for hunting…will be looking forward to your adventures again soon!
H2…hopefully next time you meet up with that team the shoe goes on the other foot!
Any more fishing trips planned on the reservoir?
I-45…hope you get a chance to get out and enjoy some of the nicer weather with your wife this week!
Spoke with a very close family friend yesterday who was a Vietnam Vet and has been suffering from several side effects of Agent Orange. He’s been involved with legal battles over this for years and yesterday he finally got the good news his claim was accepted! It’s super unfortunate it’s taken this long with all the hardships that he’s had to endure, but just to hear the excitement once again in his voice yesterday was so gratifying!
God Bless all our Vets…and hopefully, more and more of those who have been battling the Government like our friend Pat will also be compensated properly for their hardships while serving….Cawfee’s still hot!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Well found out a bird hit the power line and the lightning protector had sparks fly and started a fire under the pole, then the later power bump, well maintenance was due to people down stream of the plant only having one phase instead of the 3 phases so low volting things from what I hear. So they shut the power off and notified but the plant pays through another site so they were notified not us. Going to buy the over the counter elk tag and a deer tag for the daughter so we will head to the mountain with 2 youth tags and 2 full price tags, my father has a deer tag and elk tag and then after October 15th he has a reduced price cow/calf tag he drew for up in one of the areas we are hunting. So going to be a busy year, trying to get my time off approved so might only work 10 days in October so getting excited. Have a good one everyone work calls me to head out again and get some more testing done. Will try and check in later.

Eddie, WS and I can tell you that the VA is slow as molasses when it comes to doing things for our vets! I'm glad your friend Pat was finally able to get his compensation!! I fought them for over 3 years to finally get my full claim approved!!! There are way more vets than VA personnel to handle the claims. The same goes for medical treatment/appointments, we wait for a month or more to get seen, and then another month or more for a follow up!! Thank goodness I can still get civilian medical care for most things that are really important to my well being!! Time to kick the soap box out of the way and end my rant!! Stay well and safe!! Hope the fish are biting and the game are moving slow enough for a shot!!!

good evening currently in the low fifties outside. It was pleasant day here with a high around 66 . I see the Powerball jackpot is up to 672 million . Best to any of you who purchase tickets.
Whopper Stopper thank you for the reply. Yes things have gotten a little strange the past few years. I just hope the fawns can survive on their own if they wander onto neighboring properties and someone with a doe permit harvests their mother. I'm assuming you either saw little activity in the woods today or you harvested a bear or buck and busy dressing the animal for processing will check for a post from you tomorrow.
Ice wanderer may you have found some ways to pass the time while under limit lifting restriction following your surgery. Happy to read that you have a good support system between family and friends .
Wallyworld may the trip to Lake Erie have been problem free. May your streak of good fishing continue during this trip.
Hunts2long may all have gone well for your wife with her doctor's appointment. please give my thanks to your nephew for getting a photo of the Bull moose and passing it onto you. Thank you for posting it for all to view .
Eddie your comment on the thruway toll increases reminded me of my father telling my sister and I how someday there would be no tolls back in the late 1960's or early 1970's while we were traveling some where and taking the Thruway to reach our destination. My father did not believe that statement even back then said time would tell on the tolls. Glad you found some mason jars in the size you need best to you in finding the half pint jars . Happy your friend Pat is finally getting compensated for his suffering from Agent Orange exposure during his service in Vietnam war.
Icefisher-45 may it have been a nice day for you and your wife.
Fish/hunt4ever thank you for the explanation on power outage and bump. believe you have three children assume only your oldest daughter is legal age to big game hunt in Wyoming. Also know things get expensive depending on the cost of the tags . Safe and good hunting wished for all of you this Fall .
OldSailor the friend I lost this past April was an Air Force veteran. He has similar dealings with the VA trying to get treatment for possible Lyme disease . The Va hospital close to me specializes in paralysis cases so he had to go to the hospital in Westchester county for treatments/appointments . There was as shuttle provide between the hospitals. Once he had a late afternoon appointment by the time he was finished with the doctor the last shuttle of the day had departed. There was another vet there that day from my area who also missed the shuttle. thankfully for them there is train service they were able to get a ride to the train station and took train to a station close to his sister's home and she then drove them to the Va hospital to retrieve their cars. my friend also got upset that each visit he would see a difference doctor and several times his reports from previous visit could not be found so had to have tests over again.etc. He eventually went to civilian doctors thankful his employer had health care program. So I agree veterans health care needs an overhaul and improvements so all veterans have an easier time using the system.
Keep safe, stay healthy. Best to Wallyworld and others fishing and hunting.
