Since I've only caught crappie 2 times in my life while targeting other species, you must be confusing me with someone else.   My list is very short.......The Big River and the Big Lake.  That's all I got.  You've got to burn a lot of gas chasing these little fish all over the state of Vermont.  I'm must be getting old.....but I'm starting to like the idea of putting out a hardside on a local pond/lake and just fishing that one spot all winter.  Can get stressful and expensive chasing fish around.

Rboot, you have a good point. Here's some specific information. Have not caught a lot of crappies, but here's where I have caught them.

1. Larrabees, north of the ferry crossing, late February, in the middle of the channel (20 FOW). Suspended, 5' above bottom. (white crappies - nice ones)
2. Singing Cedars, outside the weedline in 12 FOW off Steven's Bay (north of the launch, white crappies)
3. Monkton Pond, anywhere, just above the weeds in 6.5 FOW. (black)
4. Bristol Pond, anywhere (black). Be careful of the springs out there.

I don't have a 5th spot!

All in
Conn. River
Champlain
Dillenbach
Carey Bay
Laphams
Larrabees
Indian Brook
and many more, I spent five years finding fish, and most of the looking was without info.

Yup. You still have to find and catch them. It's usually not easy...you have to put your time in.
