Flasher Battery Voltage
« on: Nov 12, 2017, 02:43 AM »
Quick question for you FLX-28 owners.....

If you charge the unit, then turn the knob from off to auto to power it up, what does the voltage read on the screen ??

A 12v battery should read about 12.7 volts 12-24 hours after you remove the charger if all the cells are good.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

Perfect.....I just had myself all confused & worried for nothing then. I think I'll blame that on getting older & more forgetful - LOL.
The last time I had charged it was on Oct. 1st. I powered it up last night & it read 12.4v on the screen. It read 13.3v after throwing it on the charger.

Thank you very much for the replies.....All is good here then !!

12 volt lead acid battery
charge rate is 14 volts. (different amps for different applications)
12.5 volts for shelf voltage. (settled and no load)
various dropping voltage depending on load and time used with load. (should be 10 volts roughly for sonar before quitting, but might need to turn up gain as it drops near depletion)
you can get a free dvm from harbor freight to check any batery and not need to depend on the sonar, but if the sonar has it built-in then the same holds true.
