underwater camera power consumption?
« on: Jan 13, 2017, 11:41 AM »
I'm trying to plan a solar panel/deep cycle battery/underwater camera/tv setup for a shack and was wondering if any underwater camera users can tell me the power consumption in watts of their particular cameras. Most manufacturers don't have this info online. Thanks
The more I fish, the less I know about fishing...
Send me a PM if you'd like info about how I built my ice shack

That will be a very tricky question to answer.  LED's on or off, brightness, brand, model... etc.

If the camera gives you an average runtime on a battery, you can divide the battery size (7-8-9Ah) by the runtime.

In the case of my Marcum pancam, it comes with a 1.3Ah battery and will run 6-8 hours.  This yields a power draw of .1625 to .25A
