Wondering the same.  I have the Striker 4 on the boat, but not sure about using it through ice.

hey guys,
i actually just picked up the striker 5dv the other week I've been on the ice a few times with it. Its not got the gt8hw (ice) tranducer. it has the gt20 (standard) transduver
the unit seems to do the job really well. i like hte way points on it as well. granted Im still learning the ropes on dialing in the striker.

im wondering how much the difference is for both transducers.

I've got an ice ducer on the way for my 4, I'll post a review if it ever shows up.

Hey Keenz, finally got it.  I ended up cancelling my initial order and got it from Tackle Direct, they had it for $97.17 with free priority shipping over $100 so I threw on a Kastmaster and had it to my door for $100.16.  It's much more convenient for hole hopping.  The skimmer is easy enough to get hanging close to level but without any weight the cord can throw it off, with the ice ducer you just dump it in the hole and go.  It also seems to give me better definition.  I normally have multiple rods with different shapes and sizes of jigs and it's a bit easier to dial in a gain setting that covers them all.  It's different than the dual beam in that you can chose whatever angle you want between 16 and 24 rather than just a wide and narrow setting.  It's not a make or break item but I'm happy with it.  I think if you ice fish a lot, normally hole hop, or want to leave the skimmer on your boat and have one for ice it's well worth it.

Here's a video where I go over the initial setup, and a bit of use.
