hello folks
I am going to be up in the Ely area in Feb. Does any one have any info about this lake or some thing near by. We are going to be in one of the cabins on the lake. Any help would be great.
Good fishing to all

Here is some info on it...

I've never fished it myself... Been on it's shores though. Beautiful area....

Look up where Silver Rapids lodge is. It is right @ the bridge that connects the Kiwishiwi river which connects to both farm lake and garden lake. & on the other side of the bridge is white iron lake. I have only fished white iron couple of times.
Look @ the map the gentleman posted. Then follow these directions.....
White Iron: From the bridge @ silver rapids lodge upper left corner of map.
Pretend you are @ the bridge looking out @ white iron.
From looking out from the bridge, take the shore line on your right.
Follow that shore line until you see a medium sized island and a couple tiny islands with it. Pike in here. Shallow weedy and close to drop offs.
Continue following that shore line and you will come across a large bay that is approx. all 10 feet in depth. And full of weeds!!! This place is pike heaven!!!!
My directions are not very good so try this too...
If looking @ the map.
And the silver rapids lodge bridge is @ 2 squares to the right from the top of the screen.
From there go 1 square down and 1 more square over for the island I was talking about.
To find that large bay full of weeds....
From the silver rapids lodge square..... go 2 squares down and 2 more squares over for that large bay.
Garden is full of small mouths. Lots of deep spots.
Farm is full of pike. Fish the bays inside a peninsula. That's all I will say....
Be careful if traveling on the kawishiwi rover. Lots of strong current. Especially right by and under the bridge. And strong current when entering farm lake.
Have fun.

Thanks I will give that a try when we get up there. How is it for sunnies?

Can't comment on pannies... I know they are their. I just hunt gators.

If you want panfish check Stub lake, just north of the Fernberg trail - not far from where you will be staying. It is a walk in only lake, or if you have a snowmobile you could use that. Just not a truck. We always did well there with the crappie, and perch.

Thanks for all the help I'm looking forward to getting up there.
