Spearing whitefish

So i just realized you can spear whitefish... Anyone ever tried... I see them in about 10 feet of water i think if i get a heavy handle i can poke em from that range.... Thoughts tips or ideas welcome

I hopefully will be there in 8 days.... If youd like to meet up next saturday there id be game.... Gotta make a new spear handle thats heavy.... Worried im gonna ruin my spearhead because the bottom where i see em is all rocks around softball size... And im no zambesi spear hunter so im prolly gonna miss.... So ill be bringing a stout file for fixing blunt tines
