Ice conditions are changing constantly. Check the ice thickness daily and frequently have fun!

Wow that’s a really nice bill. Haven’t hooked into any that big this year. Was that on CT ice.

Wow. 10 inch gill is impressive. I got into some up to 8 and 9 inches today for a few hours. 5 inches of ice. Southern Berks. About 3 dozen gills. But big and feisty. No perch or calico or bass. But a lot of fun.

Hopefully you will be able to chase them again soon with a little help in getting some cold weather to stick around.

Yes Ice Dog, I’m itching to get back out on the ice. I Just bought a new Eskimo hub shelter and can’t wait to use it this week chasing some northern pike

Well the brutal temperatures came in to Connecticut for a few days but it has passed. I was warm and comfortable in my New Eskimo quickfish 3! No pike but some panfish and largemouth bass which is always better than catching nothing! Ice fishing another pond today currently sitting on the ice as I write this and it’s slow so thought I would share a post from last week.

I went out yesterday to ice fish the only pond I knew that had safe ice in Connecticut. It’s was 50 degrees and all the pickerel were feeding hard! I can’t get back out on the ice today due to open water shore edges and the ice shifting creating open water and is no longer safe ice here ughhhh. I am Hoping it gets cold again to freeze up some areas to get back out on the ice.
