After the kids are born, husbands take a back seat to become fathers and...it’s worth it.  Happy Father’s Day to all.

Thanks everyone and all the best back to the "Dads" from me. I discovered to survive the rigors of fatherhood a couple of rules were necessary to maintain my decorum and temper my assumptions.

Dad's Rules

Rule #1. No one listens to the Dad. No matter your experience or how much common sense backs your comments NO ONE ever listens. At least the first time. When topics change or other events interrupt the current topic it always resets to the first time. This includes your wife and all the kids. Neighbor kids are somehow enthralled by your wisdom. I suspect it's because they aren't listening at home  ::)

Rule #2. Dad is always the last one to know... Anything This is all about schedules and calendars. There's a class play tonite, piano recital in 2 hours, our daughter is engaged... 3 months ago, it's for our daughter's wedding... next week, graduation party for junior... tomorrow, the Jones' are coming over... about 15 minutes, ad nauseam. There is just no end to the stuff that gets sprung at the last moments. Get comfortable and stay loose in the saddle  ;)2

Once you get these down life's a breeze!
