Wow, he's made it 53 years so far? Must have a lot of help.
-
Never ceases to amaze me!!! ??? ::)
-
I just cant fathom how you would even consider risking it in the first place.
-
"We've done this before"
shallow gene pool ???

Labatt's Blue cans floating near the spare tire?
God watches out for fools and drunkards. Looks and sounds like he was covered on both ends.
-
At least he didn't cause anyone but himself some heartache.

He probably got out and said " Moma always said life is like a box of choc O lates, you never know what you're gonna get next "
-
Wow this happened to this guys brother 15 years ago according to the article. Gee you think that he would remember how great it was for his brother to break through. Classic I am better then you move no brother is going to out do him.
-
One of Ron White's most famous lines certainly comes to mind..."You can't fix stupid"
-
He should be paying a fine.... For stupidity!
-
oh I'm sure he will ... eventually; stupidity seems to have a way of catching up to ya and making you pay
-
You would think he would be a little more cautious since his brother went through 15 years back. I work with a guy who's brother went through on a ATV and he hasn't been out since I don't think. Sold most of his fishing stuff.

There is a guy that I work with...and every year he used to brag about how he and his dad were always among the first people to get out on the ice...like it was some sort of badge of honor. Well 5 years ago the guy I work with had to work...so his dad decided to go without him...he went through and drowned. There was only an inch of ice. Now I LOVE ice fishing...but I LOVE my wife and kids even more. And I have an 8 year old son...who you guys are probably tired of hearing about, because I am a very proud dad and talk about him alot. But that kid loves hunting, fishing, and the outdoors as much as any of us. And I owe it to him to teach him "The Right Way". And I'm sorry..but anyone who risks their life...which in turn usually means they end up risking someone else's life is just an idiot. And they deserve whatever that cold hearted &!$#@ we know as Fate brings to them. And by the way...the guy I work with no longer goes ice fishing.

Things like this happening really does open a persons eyes when a person is close to them and many times that is what it takes. It's just to bad someone had to lose a life to learn a lesson.

Dont look like he will be bring out his camper this weekend :-[

Let it freeze a little and some snow and that would make a nice jump for the sleds
-
WOW.......6 to 12 inches of ice in Louisville. That right there surprises me. I think I should head south.
-

They can reseal all the empty beer cans and put them under the truck and float it up.
-
"Troopers said Mr. Martin, who was in the truck by himself, told them he was going out to check on the ice when the front end of his truck fell through the ice."
Just wanted to add this for posterity.
-
Please tell me he doesn't have any children.
-
Could be the first signs of oldtimers disease prob thought he was still on the road :o

hahaha
-
I'm guessing it needed a wash real bad and inside out CHECK!
-
Gotta love the last line about his Brother's truck going through the ice 15 years ago. I guess stupidity runs in the family.
-
The only thing that surprises me is that more people don't dround ice fishing. I have seen several people doing things on the early ice that they were lucky to survive. Now with the late ice melt down, there will be more. Its a pretty safe sport if people use a little common sense.

Did he cut the gas line when it went in or remove the gas cap? The tanks on vehicles are sealed vessels, should not leak unless it was ruptured somehow.
-
I'm a nervous wreck when driving on ice that is more than safe to hold a vehicle. I can't imagine the feeling of actually driving on ice that you don't know the thickness of. Insane or stupid? Maybe both.
-
I'm guessing they will drive the tractor right on out there to pull er out. Whats the worst that could happen?
-
Come on guys, give the guy some credit. He left the camper home!!! hunts2long
-
What do you mean you didn't drive your truck out there to see if its thick enough. Lol
-
Bone headed move

Funny

Like I said,It is all good ice till it breaks, then it is bad ice. Some people never learn. I just can not see this (driving out on the ice to see how thick the ice is)DRIVING,O come on now. I would like to sell this guy some good mountain land in Florida. Jerry
