Wont be too much longer
« on: Nov 27, 2005, 07:06 PM »
Took a detour to check out Seibert Lake on the way home from my sons hockey game in Lake La Biche today. Things are looking good as the lake was completely frozen over and ice was up to 4 inches or so about 20 feet from shore. :) Lac La Biche had ice forming to about 12 feet from its shore as well, wont be too long I will get to try out my new Jiffy.

I was out on Mile 7 today.  Ice was about 6", but the trout were not home.  The bay at town was frozen over last week, but the wind thrashed it.  Hopefully next week Beaver will be accessible by foot.  I will let you know.

7 Mile by the N Ram on the FTR?

Rick, that translates to the North Ram on the Forestry Trunk Road.

cc, I've heard Bushbunny speak of 7 mile before.  He always says, now see if I can get this right, the old Conglin road ???

Well, it's near Lac La Biche anyway ;D

It is on the "old Conklin road," at km 11.  Small lake but some good sized trout.  A salvage fishery, in that they winterkill, allows 15 fish.  They are all about 15 - 18" and fight like hell!!

I'm going to try Kinky and Wildhorse on Wednesday. Our family has a cottage in that area and the snow that fell 3 or more weeks ago is still on the ground.

It should easily be walkable. I will be posting pics for sure.

Looking forward to seeing the first ice fishing trip in Alberta that's posted.
