Tourney Starting Date????

Lonewolf,

Question, is there a reason why we have to start on Jan 1? Is there a way you could push it up earlier in December? Hopefully to most members,  fishable ice starts around Dec 1 and most ice fisherman we start our 2016-2017 season off. I'm not complaining but was thinking about it this evening, and I've never seen anyone ask?

A lot of  states have a season that doesn't open till January 1st.

We didn't have fishable ice here till the week before Christmas.  Well, there was if ya went up to the high country, but I can't afford that trip every weekend.  I like the January 1 start date.  Gives people time to knock the rust off, get used to the new gear they may have acquired, and then we are off and running with the new year!

I agree with Raptor... It is rare for me to get on safe ice before Christmas without making a long haul... I like Jan. 1.
