There were machines on the Bay on Saturday. Use caution the whole bay did not freeze at the same time. Read the Big Water Jefferson thread for better conditions reports. I fished the north end of Johnsons and had 7.5 inches of ice. Very little snow on it so it should be making more. Caught a mess of perch too. Wind was brutal. @)

Wondering if someone could help me out with some info on the former Goldens Marina.  Used to go there as a kid.  Was wondering what happened to it and where exactly it was.  Planning a trip in the near future to the bay and was looking for places to go and a little history.  Thanks in advance

It was acquired by the NYS DEC for a boat launch site. It's located on County Route 57 at "The Isthmus" (the little strip of roadway that connects to Point Peninsula)

Any word on the ice? I was hoping to make it up there this weekend but don't want to make the 3.5 hour drive for nothing.

The bay held ice, at least within the area between the tips of three mile point and salubrious back to the launch.  Guffins ice held also.

In other news, apparently there are bunch of idiots who can't distinguish between open water and ice as a few 4 wheelers have dropped through the big open hole right at the boat launch itself, guess the 20 foot detour on a machine to get around the open hole was too far to travel.

Anybody fishing Sunday that wouldn't mind me tagging along?? Just moved up here never fished the bay before and to be honest it's a little intimidating to me. I'd much rather go with someone who knows there way around out there for my first time out there.

I see someone else put four wheeler through the ice at boat launch ! Rope off for a reason , not to use it is not safe . Anyone who doesn't know conditions should check out Chaumont hardware he pretty good and regular on info . Least of all be smart and safe .

Hey all!

Anyone know what the rate is at Duck-away motel? Looks like the only chance(next week I hope) to get on any safe ice before spring with be up north.

Bad day fishing Saturday, 3 people 4 hours no perch in 10 and 12 ft of water. No one else caught many or none at all from the surrounding shacks. We were fishing at Salubrious. Bad day elsewhere?

I was up on Thursday and caught just one 10"perch in about 12-15 fow.  Moved 5 times in 3 hrs. Walking was very hard due to snow/slush/ice on top of the ice.  10 deg temp but warm in my Striker Ice. Was told I wasn't over deep enough water and that eyes were bitin out further.  Wish I had a sno machine to cover ground.

I'm wondering if the slush has solidified?   Would Mud Bay be better and less walking?

Slush is still bad, I don't think Mud Bay has ice. Chaumont should be good by Tues.
