Nice pics  dont look like they are nice and fat now for the most this is what weve been seeing ,they say alwifes are in low cycle if they dont find food they will be food . Yes there are still some fat ones but more of what you see is the norm . Good job guys , did you take any to eat if so whats inside , and yes i know there are alot of things better to eat but some people eat them not just c&r!!!

Sorry just saw the post, no we didnt keep any im not a big fan of laker but im not afraid to take them either know alot of people that like them! didnt milk any stomachs on these fish they looked like they worked hard for what litttle they had in there!! :( :(

Yeah I would say so, that was my first good one this year no double digit but looked like a laker should have got some that were healthier looking they have all been shorter fish most of the 23 to pushing towards 30 have been snakes . still got hopes that I can get a double digit laker again been a few years . I see a guy posted that somebody got one 11 lbs havent seen a pick- Nick

I met fishslapped at Stewarts in Cooperstown yesterday and ADKlakertaker on the ice at 3 mile today. I got two short lakers yesterday evening and one healthy looking 20 incher today. The laker today did not have any clipped fins, so I assume it is a naturally reproduced fish. This is my first post.

that fish was caught shallow, i got this pic texted to me a few days ago, its one of my college prof's students.    Nice fish are being caught shallow, but not many, only on tipups, and only at low light.

a smidgen of good news is that ciscos and maybe even smelt might - just might - be making a comeback.    Alewives have been completely absent from the trawls for 3 years now...
