3 1/2 inches ice and its raining and 40 degrees You think its gonna be safe! Rained most of the day and above freezing all day. Also rain now as I type this. Rain all night. Tommorow Rain in the morning above freezing temps all night and into 40's by afternoon with winds pushing 25mph. Does anyone watch or listen to weather forcasts anymore???

Lol. They prolly listen to the radio or use that weather bug thing that is so far off. I look at it read between the lines and draw my own conclusion from what happened during day b4 how far theyve been off lately use more then one site. Ice fishermen really pay attention cuz when the wind changes and have warm or bad ice we go bullheading to make a few bucks for ice fishing or beer. Lol
Tight lines. Ice 'em and be safe

Someone dropped a plank off at the state launch cause the shore ice was sketchy, with all this rain, 40° weather and any windsup there I wouldnt call it safe.

I wouldn't try it. It's been raining here all night and from the looks of the radar, it looks like it is going to rain several more hours. It's not worth drowning.

:)  Just got back from Silver Lake, just infront of Mack's.  Cold, windy, but lots of Blue Gills. More than one guy limited out in an hour or two or three.  Spikes and mealworms were best but you could catch them on plastic.  4" of clear ice and perhaps a bit more in some places, and not much water on top. Perhaps 30 groups of folks were fishing.  We needed an ice anchor on our shelter because of the wind.

+1 on that. Above freezing again today and not enough cold at night to make up for it.
