Do you fish anywhere else in the northeast? I fished at Hood once during open water but ive been finding alot more new places to fish around northeast MA that are awesome!!

I've recently moved here from Wisconsin - but I've been exploring for the last 4 years.  I fish about the same ponds you do it looks like.

One fun trip for you guys would be Cranes Pond in Crane Pond WMA in West Newbury.  It's kind of a hike back in there but you can drive a GOOD 4x4 within a couple hundred yards.  Lot's of big hold over Browns and probably big bass in there.  I have never talked to anyone who has fished it except me - took the canoe up there a few times and each time had big browns with my fly rod.  By big - I mean 22inch + - that's a nice brown.  You can find maps and stuff online searching Crane Pond WMA.  Water is moving through there so I'd watch the ice early - but should be good in a week or so.

If I were in my younger everyday adventure time - I would hit that for a week straight and see what happens.  Those browns will be moving all day - so no need to move tip-up's around.  They are bottom cruisers during the winter - the big ones feed mainly on bait fish - so anyway................ .........would be a great adventure I would say.

I'd rather be fishing!

I release 90% of the panfish I catch, but I do occasionally keep a few to eat and i release all bass and pickeral. I keep most of the trout and salmon I catch but havent been out for them yet. Hopefully during Feb vacation. :)

Nice starter pike, guys!  After ya tie into that first 40"+ slimeball, it's hard to go back to panfish!

Always wear clean underwear, cuz ya never know when the paramedics are gonna have to cut your pants off.
