Walked out on Echo on Sat straight east from the prov boat launch (not north close to the bridge.... it can be thin with current).
There were 6-8 pop ups with some other harty souls also braving the elements. I was out maybe 500 yards, in 12 feet of water and had 11" of ice. No heaves that I could see anywhere. Got out mid morning until about 3 but it was really slow. Did manage a nice 7.9 eye which made it worth the trip. Hope this cold weather continues so we can drive on soon, just about blew a gasket dragging out my gear!

Echo Lake at B-Say-Ta
13 of good ice at all spots. Fished 5 different spots between 20 and 35. Was out between 10:30am and 3:30 pm. Slow fishing day. Two Tullibee and one small walleye.
2-3 of snow on lake, with a few areas with 4-6 drifts
mostly pencil type drifts. Easy driving in a half ton pulling a 8 trailer.
Darn cold even with the furnace running all day.
