Water level won’t be any higher than what it was in June 2019. We have very little snow fall this winter so there won’t be much run off this spring unless we get a bunch of snow in March. Lots of great spring spots to fish, I def wouldn’t go to Big Arm. Just have to make some miles. The fingers in the North end can be very good and also some great spots by wee too in the spring

Hey Farmboy (or anyone else). Any idea how low the water is relative to what Navionics or Lakevu maps shows?

Also, how’s the fishing been? My brother and I are heading that way on Friday for a week any want to plot out some spots to hit, but don’t know how low the water is compared to what our contour maps are showing.

Thanks a ton.

Has anybody travelled north from Etters Beach past Lewis Creek? Just wondering if there are any pressure ridges/heaves to be aware of. Thnx in advance!

Good on them. Sounds like they looked the otherway for the guys getting plastered in the shack, and just went for the guys who like to do that and then drive home.

Yup agreed. Way too many people killed by drunk drivers on our roads. No tolerance for that crap. If you want to have a few pops then just have a designated driver for the day. Pretty simple

Or sleep in your shack. I personally think the no alcohol at all on the ice is silly. But alcohol laws have to be what they are because we as a province have proved we arent responsible enough to enjoy things.

Heading out to midway tomorrow morning, haven't been out there all year. Any heaves to be aware of getting on there?

YoungGun96 we were up there 2 weeks ago and all was good, we went on at Collingwood and worked our way North and came off at Midway.
2 of us fishing for 4 hours, 4 different spots through out the day and 1 perch for our efforts. Extremely slow that day, but good luck you never know.

We are planning to fish by Etter's Beach tomorrow and I have heard a rumour that there is an access problem there at the boat launch.
Can anyone tell me what access is like there?

Thanks in advance....

Managed about 25 burbs on last mountain and 1 5lb 5oz walleye solo yesterday. Watched walleye chase my hook up and down but couldn't get any other to commit. All in all a good day!

YoungGun, was there somewhere to get on and off at Midway? Thinking of heading there today but last time I was in that area about a month and half ago, couldn't find a way on. With the temps I'm thinking I'll be walking on but wasn't sure where to access the lake there anymore. It was pretty sandy in the area as well and saw someone stuck in the sand. I don't need that as I'll likely be solo lol. A number of years ago there was a different trail to the lake thru a gate but it's closed now. Should be a beauty day, hopefully the wind doesn't come up too much.
Cheers! 😀

No problem getting on the lake at Etter's. The concrete launch did in fact get buckled by ice, but people have just been driving on beside it.
Very little snow on the ice, but there is a nasty pressure ridge running North - South down the middle of the lake.
Our day was pretty slow with one 13 - 14 lb pike and a couple of burbot caught. Some walleye got active around sunset but proved hard to bring through the hole.

Rowan's launch is good, slushy top all over but solid 3 feet of ice on the lake.

The burbot we were trying for last week were not real shallow. Certainly not in the 4 to 6 feet we often catch them in at our spot. The few we got were in 12 FOW and they were daytime biters. We stayed until 7:15 and caught no burbot either in any of the holes which went out to 17 feet.

Thanks for the update speckspotter!

I appreciate it. I kinda have been hearing through the grapevine that the burbot bite was a bit delayed this season or they are still deep.

Tried the night bite for burbs sat.  No go.   Today on pp I had one up to the hole and lost it. And landed a small pike.

So .... I would have to say the burb bite has not started yet.  And I find it very hard to believe the 25 and I've been around a while so fwiw🤷

I've never had great luck on Pelican for burbot. I've caught a few but nothing like further up the lake! Might be worth a trip further north if you want to catch a few...

Pp is awesome when the bite is right.   Massive numbers if you drop down a camera.   It's almost hard to imagine the numbers that can be under you.untill you watch it   Burbs can still be picky too on the spawn

Burbot bite has been hot for the last 3ish weeks and still going strong. Looks like it is almost done tho, only catching males now. Headed out early this morning and crushed out a few quick limits. What a blast! Hopefully will make it out a couple more times before it slows down.

Made it out to LML for the first time yesterday.  Fun to scope out new territory.  Slow day for our group.  Beside us about 6 people had 12 or so flags.  They popped maybe four times that I saw.  I was able to ice 5 burbot, 5 perch, one Tulibee and one decent pike on the jaw jacker. Saw one walleye on the camera. Perch came in as singles or doubles. 18 FOW.  Triple T.
Get outside.  It does a body and mind good!
