somethin to pout about - how do you fish pre-spawn?
« on: Dec 13, 2011, 04:58 PM »
been fishing some places ive done really well for the burbot but they are completely gone this year.  i know there are still good #s of them in the lake but for whatever reason they are not showing up yet.
what do you guys do for pre-spawn burbot?  fish deeper?

racking my head for ideas.  i have good bait and im fishing areas ive done really well at in the past, same time of year.  just an odd year maybe.

If you have an area that works and has produced. Than mark that area and fish grids, many of the times when going back to a proven production hole they tend to shift sometimes 20' and sometimes 300yds keep an eye out for the same structure and bottom and follow until you find them again. Never give up never surrender.

Depending on chuming you could make them come to you. Chum a few holes heavily for a couple days that should bring them to you.
