Livewell for Bait...
« on: Nov 02, 2020, 09:20 AM »
I'm somewhat new on this site, but a veteran Ice Fisherman....
Perhaps this subject is covered to death in other forums, but I'll ask anyway.

I'm looking for good ways to either modify my 20 Gal insulated cooler (bait tank) for aeration and filtration, or suggestions on what you guys are using. I have used my technique for years, and it's OK at best, keeps my bait (creek bait and store bought shiners) for awhile, but I do loose bait (shiners) at a consistent rate. My setup is pretty basic, I use an aquarium pump and stones for aeration, which appears to be adequate, but for filtration I hang one of those aquarium filters over the side and it does an OK at best job. I do use creek water vice city water, and refresh the cooler a couple times a week.

I need a better setup, please help. Pictures are appreciated.
