Broken Beaver Dam Spool?
« on: Jan 14, 2017, 03:57 PM »
I bought a few old beaver dams off of ebay. one of them was having issues, a bent rod, and when I went to spool it was freespooling without turning the shaft... ruh roh.

when I unsoldered the spool, it came off in 3 (or 4 I guess) parts. bushing, top of spool, bottom of spool, rivet/pin.... so I'm guessing this spool is toast or is it supposed to come off like that? I'm used to new ones that come off in one pc.

Thanks,
Steve

Some old spools are two parts I believe.  You might be able to straighten the rod out, reassemble the spool and solder spool back on.  If not it's only $10 for the whole assembly on the Uncle Josh website.

Yeah, got a new spool coming as well as a new flag, as this one had a shorter flag and missed the hoop on the flag.
