Just returned from NW Wisconsin, ice was very good, there are trucks on some of the lakes but the snow depth makes that very sketchy. Recommend atv or snowmobile. If anyone wants a last minute trip it is worth it. I fished Washburn county, bite was slow on day 1 but picked up from there. No huge crappie but plenty of nice ones. 7.5 hours from south bend if you have the itch.
