Boat and Handheld GPS communication
« on: Jan 30, 2006, 01:17 PM »
I'm looking to buy an in dash GPS/Fishfinder from Lowrance for my boat.  I also want the flexibility of marking places that I may come across if I am hiking or at a lake without my boat and see something I want to go back to with the boat.  I would need a handheld for that.

My queston is...Can i take the handheld and put the points I mark on it into my boat GPS/Fishfinder?  Has anyone had experience doing this?   Will I need a cable, or can i just take the waypoint coordinates from the handheld and enter them into the boat somehow?

I realize I COULD take the handheld with me in the boat, but I'm trying to put all my fishing points into the one GPS so when I sink the boat I only lose one.   ;D
