MarCum PanCam videos

I've been having an absolute blast with this MarCum PanCam.  The only problem I've noticed, is that its really, really hard to concentrate on fishing when you are watching the fish on camera.  These were all taken from my cellphone, a Blu Life Play. I like being able to upload video straight from my cell phone. 

The pictures are mediocre, but I've been very happy with the video quality.  Most the lakes around here are pretty green and we are still able to see plenty of fish.  The Pan action works decent for finding my jig or following a fish. 

Yesterday, there was 2 of us fishing about 3 feet apart and we were able to pick up both jigs pretty easily.  It is  neat being able to link the camera to any phone too, so we could both watch it.

Enjoy a few short clips .  It's very humbling to watch fish on camera.  Watching a fish stare down your bait and reject it, is pretty disheartening.

Thats pretty cool ! How dirty is that water on a scale 1-10? I fish a few local ponds and water clarity is horrible, like pea soup. But I have considered buying one these. Just not sure how well it would work in those really dirty bodies of water.

We've been really lucky this year that there hasn't been much rain during the ice season, so the lakes are off color, but not real dirty.  I'd say they're about a 5 on a scale of 1-10.  Visibility is about 4-5 feet right now I would guess.

This Marcum PanCam is insane! That was some of the most fun ice fishing I've ever done! Like Don said though, if watching your flasher and you bring a fish off the bottom and it turns away annoys you then actually being able to see the fish face to bait with your lure/bait then nonchalantly turn away will drive you insane! I found myself yelling at my phone! After using this with Don for a few hours I was already hooked and ordered one from him! Of course this is no where near as important as a flasher and could really not replace it, it does allow you to see what exact movements do trigger a bite and you get to see how the fish are acting and how aggressive they really are. Definitely a good time and an awesome piece of equipment!  The hardest thing to do, as Don said, is not to continue to look at your phone instead of your flasher and rod tip!

Haha,  that would be pretty neat.  Maybe I'll look into that this year.  It would be a nice addition to the website.

Counting the time down until Sunday comes! Can't wait to pick this puppy up and try it all day! Bringing a charger on the ice for my phone so that won't die! Taking some new people with me who have never used flashers so they will be lucky enough to be able to use my two flashers while my buddy and I test out this camera! Should be a good time!

One of my customers picked up a PanCam this weekend and got a few fish pictures to share with us.

This nice bass came in for a closeup.

Loving this unit! Working great and helping to find the cover and the fish! Found a crate on the lake we fish and found the mother load of fish! It's a great addition to the arsenal with major upside! It'll never take the place of my flasher but it will always go out on the ice with me! I watch it on my cell phone as well!

I got to get myself one of these. Videos look great! Question is. Would I be able to use a tablet instead of my phone? The idea of having my phone anywhere near an ice hole doesn't sit well for me haha.

Yep! You can use anything that has a WiFi connection as long as you download the free app on it. You can connect multiple devices to the one unit. You can also move the camera on the device you are using!
