Anyone know a place to get minnows around Torrington? Fished hawk today with no luck. Minnows might help.

Fishing is not about life or death, it is much more important than that! And all I have to say is FISH ON baby.

You might try Gary's Gun Shop in Torrington. He has had live bait in the past.

Being from Torrington I've found the only thing for me to do is trap my own. Keeping them can be a problem when it gets as cold as it is now 'cause my tank freezes in but for the most part it isn't all that hard to do.

Step up to a big chest freezer. Keep the water moving from aerator and a good pond pump filter and it won't freeze.

Thanks jopes! I hadn't thought of a pond filter. I'm using a 150 gal non-metal stock tank about half full outside. Just put a 1000 watt tank heater in two days ago and it is keeping the temp at 41 degrees in the half it is sitting in and so far no ice building in from the sides. Gonna pull traps this morning and see how it works with minnows.
