I'm a total die hard and as much as I hate to admit it, the season's done unless we get about a week long deep freeze to let the lakes make new ice.

I wouldn't walk on ice in PA right now even if it looked good and there was a dozen guys and the Swedish bikini team out there.... well, maybe if the Swedish bikini team was there... but otherwise, nope... not gonna do it. I packed all my stuff away and dug out my kayak gear. Can't wait for the first trip out, might have to take a day off next week to make it happen!

I am a die hard as well, but after the rains yesterday, I'm done without at least a week of sub-freezing temps.  Doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Thank you all for responding to this post.  Kept me from bringing my gear along this weekend on a family trip up north to Susquehanna County.  Ice looked in bad shape, without my gear I wasn't even tempted to go anywhere near it to even check it!  I should have brought my open water gear though, easily could have kayaked around the edges and fished!

Talk to you all next year!
