Just picked up a eskimo 450XD Plaid from Midway USA online. On sale for $485.70 ($34.29 off W/ free shipping). Not a great deal, but better than nothing. My local scheels didnt have any instock and they said another scheels 4 hours away had 21 on hand. Since its a bigger item they refused to ship from store to store without me paying close to $100 in shipping - per their manager.

Anyone have good luck buying bigger items from Midway USA online?

Midway is very, very, legit. My guess is they will ship it yet today and you'll have it in a day or two. That's always the case for me, I order reloading and gun stuff from them all the time.

Bigger in size/weight. The advertised weight for the eskimo 450XD is a little over 54lbs and the box is the typical pop up shelter size.. Even though it says "free shipping" there is a disclaimer that says "Additional charges for large or heavy items still apply". I'm waiting for a response from Midway.. I'd hate to be hit with a large shipping charge.

That is what Amazon Warehouse is. I have bought a lot from them, and if I ever had something that did not measure up, I know Amazon returns are very easy. Their prices for ice fishing gear has been higher than it was in the summer, so there fewer really good deals than in August. Hope it works out for you.

I got my 3x Striker Defender gloves today. Can’t say I’m jumping up and down over them but we’ll see if they work. Very light, sizing is small, and first impression of quality is so so. Price is right so that will impress the “cheaper is better” people on here, but I expected more.

That is exactly what my impression was based on some reviews I read before the purchase.  Many said that these were NOT $80-$90 gloves, more like $30-$40.  So hopefully they prove to be worth that.

First impression is pretty good but only used them shoveling and clearing off the car yesterday morning. I wanted gloves I could leave on during a hot bluegill or crappie bite, with my mitts I'd take them off and on a few times, then leave them off and wind up with cold, numb hands. Hated the neoprene gloves I tried, and fingerless wool were a hook magnet. These should work, and if not, they'll be great on the boat late fall or early spring. I've been watching prices and haven't seen them dip below $40, so thought I'd share.
