How old is the oldest known preserved tied fly.  Year!

Mine is 9/1979 , tied in Cooke City Mt. ''black ant'' not very pretty but I still have it. I know that  's not what you're looking for but I don't even have a guess for your question.

The American Museum of Fly Fishing claims to have a fly tied in 1789 and they claim that is the oldest known existing fly.

Since there are numerous mentions of catching fish on a fly as far back as 200 AD, I suspect there may be other old ones around but no way to date them accurately.
