Want to fish tomorrow..just gotta find some ice. ??? :-\
-
Barney’s was locked up still and handy pond...I drove by both this morning...next week gonna be real cold again
-
Hey bag you ever fish Handy? I have a couple times. I am literally right around the corner.
-
Came by Waterman this a.m. wide open on the RTE 44 access side. Need a L...OOO...OOONNGG plank or ladder to get there.
-
Nothing good to report in the N.W. corner. The water came way up everywhere so access to the ice that remains will be tough. 12’ of open water before you can reach the ice in most places. Be safe,
-
Did anyone check out Wilson's??

Yeah, same there 12’ of open water between the ramp and the ice.
-
damn...
-
I know Bowdish was pretty tight edges were good... only problem there....Ain't no fish . :P :P
-
They are in there...that's a good size lake.
-
Yeah I know they are Iv'e only fished a small portion of it. Once I find them I'm sure it will be fine. But Still hunting is half the fun. I guess one consolation is I know where they ain't.
-
A guy once told us that he used to ice fish Bowdish across the street from the fire station on rte. 44. He said that they would drill a hole then use an 8' 2x4 to move the weeds away wait for the water to settle down and drop a line in. Claimed that the caught plenty of fish using this method. :o

Open water once but with a rod and reel...it’s only fly fishing so I didn’t stick around very long...I don’t know how that works? Fly fishing only ponds? Can you use tip ups there?
-
I did two weeks ago and if its locked up I will be doing it again in about an hour or so. I paid for my trout stamp just like the guy with a fly rod. If a guy with a fly rod shows up I will leave

Haha what you catch in there? Bass, pickerel and trout? Shallow right? Good luck and be safe

Yes they are all in here. 5" of solid ice no open water up top. Come on down I got a dozen shiners
-

-

Thanks for offer I was in bed work 3rd shift....tight lines gonna be great by next weekend!
-
It's Funny I was having a similar thought as to the guy sticking to 2X4 down the hole at Bowdish. Might give that a run this weekend got nothing to lose. I'm not catching fish with the current method. I'll let you know.
-
I know it’s a little late but I had a similar issue with a spot I fished....spent many hours with no flags and just catching a buzz. Scouted the place with my boat in the spring then marked trees along the banks where there were no weeds and estimated about how many feet away from the bank to drill holes. Next ice season started getting flags and fish. Good luck sounds like your working hard at that pond.
-
The issue with Bowdish is its a water control lake they do a very heavy draw down so even if I do a summer scout won't really give me a picture of the weed situation. Where they don't do the draw down the weeds are heavy pretty much throughout.
-
Waterman update...Edges have tightened up some. I would spud them for safety but suspect it can be fished after the last couple nights. I fished Bowdish Sunday and there was still a good 4 inches there in front of the house.

90% of the fish will be in 10% of the lake.

Agreed... still looking for the 10% Sweet Spot. ;D
