I love em. Only jigs I can't use them on is the small Fiskas jigs, the hook eyes are too small. I wouldn't try using them for icin Northern, but for any panfish they are great, lets the jig have a real free movement, and actually the metal on metal clearance from the snap to the eyelet gives a slight click to call in fish I believe.

I have been using them for years.  I use the smallest ones that they make.  It lets the jig swing free and it makes changing to other colored hooks a lot fast.  No frozen fingers.  A little hint get a pair of fine point needle nose pliers to help hold the no knot to change hooks.  I use a pair from sears they are like jewelers pliers.

How do you get a horizontal jig to stay horizontal?
Fisherman's Prayer

And when it comes to my last cast,
       I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net
           And peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be Judged
              BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

Ill use a 2 way swivel with a 18" leader when pumpin Raps or spoons so my line dont get all wound up,the fast snaps are ok I guess, but I lost a nice fish on one and went to the 2 way swivel, havent had a problem since......

I use them with very small spoons,I can change lures quickly,I'm not a big fan of swivels but the smallest one work great.

Depends on the jigheads your using. the cheapo jigheads them no. But some of the better ones are more balanced and will hang more level. Not that it really matters, everything under water isn't only vertical or horizontal. I'd be worried more if my jig is spinning while I'm jigging than if its level.

I use those for crappie fishing. Easier than retying 2-4# test with cold hands at nite. Plus carry at least 3 jig rods. 8)
Looking forward to some "crappie" nights!

I do the same as others have already posted. Small jig's get tied direct and my bigger rods used for chubbies, raps and spoons get fas-snaps.

I thought years ago that those would be the ticket, wrong! I didn't like the fact that you could not pull the line up on a horizontal jig to make it hang right. and on the vertical jigs the line would loop over and hag on the clip. Just keep a lantern going to warm your hands and tie the old fashioned way. Just my 2 cents worth.
