I have been out on the ice quite a few times this season already. Have had some hits, friends caught some Friday with me, but I haven't been able to land one yet, until today. I landed 3, broke off one, and had several other hits. Friend caught a nice one too. Here is the first one, then they got bigger. The first one was the smallest one.

That is not what any of them were caught on, it was a rod not in use at the time. sneaky aren't I

These fish were caught on a small pond near the interstate in Burley. I have been ice fishing for a number of years, but this year started out slow. The ice conditions this year have been funny. Last weekend some friends and I took a boat and fished CJ instead of trying to get on ice. Fish and game stocked the trout, they were fun to catch, but bad eating.

Try brining and smoking them. You might be surprised how good they can taste.
