Iroquois Refuge (Genesee/Orleans County)
« on: Jan 18, 2016, 12:20 PM »
Stopped up to the Ringneck Marsh at the Iroquois Refuge this afternoon.  Looked like one guy had been out.  About 3-4" of white ice - wasn't enough for me to feel comfortable.  Parking lot hasn't been cleared since the snow last night but it was passable.

Checked ringneck today.  The pond was iced over completely with hardly any snow.  Clear ice but not yet thick enough to get out.  In the corner by the parking lot there was about 2" and then walking along the path towards the islands it was consistently around 1".

Stopped by the marsh while I was driving through.  1.5" of white ice off the end of the new pier.
