I am meeting my old ice fishing buddy (from Minnesota) this tear to ice fish in Michigan. The problem is we do not have a clue where to go???? we have light eqipment (portables, etc.) and heavy equipment (tow behind sleeper, etc).

My question: Will there be enough ice in late Feb/ early March to support a full size truck w/ tow behind sleeper? if so where is a good place to go?

If not enough ice where is a good spot w/ portables?

Please HELP!!!

Thanks,

Will

that time of the year you can still fish most anywhere in the upper peninsula. we were on lake superior, (lanse bay & copper harbor) the first week of march last year. splake and lake trout fishing can be real good. there is usually pretty good walleye fishing still in chassell. e-mail me if you like as i fish 3 - 4 times a week somewhere in northern u.p.
da splake chaser

If you can get up in Feb Little Bay De Noc can be some of the best walleye fishing youll find.  Dont know if there will be safe enough ice to drive the truck on though.

Try Lake Independence in Big Bay.
Jumbo perch, Walleyes, and Pike :)
