lake st.clair/mitchells bay

does anyone have a ice report from mitchells bay ?

I live about 100 km's north of Lake St. Clair & my local smaller lake is borderline at the very best. :-\ :(
I highly suspect St. Clair is not safe enough to even consider yet.

                a friend of mine just emailed me that mitchells bay has 8-9 inches of ice and they are fishing today waiting to hear if the bite was on or off today and if ice thickness was accurate will pass on what i find out.

were fishing on the west side of the lake in the bays and cuts and doing quite well. We have 3-5" of ice. The main lake is open but the cuts are good.

my dad and I kept 40 gills today and 19 perch

many guys were getting limits

Just be carefull everyone. St. Clair has in the past had a nasty habit of iceflows breaking free from the pack & leaving anglers floating with no access to the shore when the lake isn't completely frozen over.

I was talking to a couple of guys from the valley and they said that they were limiting out up there, cant wait  such great news after last year.
