Title: bear hunting
Post by: canada on Mar 01, 2018, 10:40 AM
Is anyone getting excited for spring bear season?

Has fishing really been that slow? I think this site is becoming more about how to retain one's winter sanity than about ice fishing.  I expect to be reading Netflix reviews here soon.

I'm on a few of those Facebook groups and a majority is bad advice, show boating, people calling each other out, and admins pushing for sponsors.

This site is more civil.

ahhhhh i remember when this site used to be like that...the good old days, used to be a ton of fun.  now this forum sees so little action i'm all for talking about anything, with in reason.  we're all outdoorsmen first and foremost so some off topic jibber jabber shouldn't put anyone out.

there's also the option of not clicking on the topic...

Online forums are slowly dying off, seems like the bigger ones are holding their own.  Doesn’t help when an image hosting company charges top dollar for 3rd party hosting.  FaceBook is a lot easier to to post content like pics/video directly from your phone or other device right into the message.

I'm not on faceplate either and prob never will be. I enjoy this site, I onky get out once or twice a season now so I enjoy checking this forum and living vicariously through others...haha. Seems like most of the guys on here are all pretty decent guys and don't get caught up in pissing matches like so many other sites do. I don't go on any online sites to look for a new hero and seems like everyone on here gets it. Good group on here and willing to share advice with others which is what it's all about.  ;)

or here,s another option if your more of a hunter than a fisherman you can go here. wildsaskoutdoors.ca/forum/ and talk hunting.?  you see that,s the problem pretty soon this ICE FISHING fourm will turn into a bunch of jibber jabber about any topic. just like all the other specfic topic forums that are out there.

Seems like pretty much every outdoor activity has their own sites and forums. I would like this one to remain one used solely for icefishing and related topics. Just my opinion.

Eating bear and burbot are both very good, but still prefer moose and walleye.
