Good deal F&R, fish had lock jaw on the east end this morning. They were there, just couldn't pry them off the bottom. 1 keeper eye and 1 slob perch was all I could manage from 7-11. For those walking out of LP, best to go straight out off the end of point and head from there. The corner on the south bay side is a heaved up wreck. A couple sleds and wheelers out this morning.

Best option is.... get there in time.. or wait till noon...
I live 3 1/2 hrs away  so I totally get what you're asking...
If I cannot leave my house by 230 a.m. I just wait and leave later and plan to fish evening...
I typically just stay overnight to make sure I'm good for the a.m. bite
Thanks a lot brother.  I'm a little over 2 hours so I'll keep all that in mind.  Is it reasonable to expect I can walk it out of Lewis point.  Between wheelers right now.

Where about at Verona?I usually go out at Chapman with my sled. But I keep my boat at Lewis Point area.So I know that end a little better and would love to ice fish that end.As well as avoid the Chapman nightmare.

verona beach state park.  its not all that far from lewis point fishing grounds

There is a big crack on the North Shore in front of Cleveland not too far out. That one is going to be a beast.

7-8” hard ice out of Chapman, saw some sleds and quads. Some tiny cracks but no big pressure heaves. She’ll be popping and banging tonight and through the weekend. A lot of the snow has blown off or melted and where it hasn’t it’s pretty hard packed. But lots of open ice areas so wear yer spikes.

Slow but steady pick this afternoon, had fun.

Fly-rodder is right wear your creepers ,
Slow day for me , 2 set ups didn’t mark many but managed to get 11 really nice perch , goon marked more and did much better than I ,spoons seemed to work the best tipped with a minnow head , going to be a cold 1 in the morning
