older Yamaha tow hitch
« on: Jan 21, 2015, 09:36 AM »
Trying to upgrade to a tow bar on my flip over shanty and tow hitch on my sled. Have a 1988 Yamaha xl with the old style round aluminum bumper with plastic cover over it. Ordered the universal bumper hitch from heeters but the pipe from the bumper is too thick. Going to see what others are doing with that style bumper. I know they were common on SRV's, xl's and several more. Any help is appreciated.

This is my '89 Yamaha Phazer.  You can see the piece of angle iron that has the head of an eye bolt welded to it.  The angle iron is bolted to the bumper.  I hope this helps.

You can observe alot by watching.
